Your First Visit to Our Vancouver Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

After filling out a brief questionnaire and viewing a short 5-minute informative video, you will be invited to discuss your concerns with us. If we feel your problem can be helped by chiropractic care we will proceed to the examination.

Our examination concerns itself primarily with the condition of the spine and nervous system. During this examination each vertebrae and corresponding nerve root will be checked for irritation. Because all nerves relay information between the brain and body, nerve irritation at the spinal level can cause a number of common and sometimes uncommon health problems.

The examination does not limit itself to the spine and a number of other test may be performed to assess any contributing factors.

Chiropractors are trained to take and analyze x-rays. X-rays help us be more precise with our diagnosis and treatments. They also help us detect other bone diseases such as osteoarthritis.

The entire process may take up to an hour, give or take 20 minutes. To get the most for your money, arrive on time or even a little earlier to fill out the initial intake form. We take pride in the fact that we do not make our clients wait.

You can expect us to be on time at least 90% of the time.

Will x-rays be required? Will you receive a treatment on the first visit? These are the most common questions we receive from new clients. The answer is…it depends. Often reviewing x-rays before care begins insures the highest quality treatment.

After the information is gathered, the doctor will require some time to study the examination findings and chart the best course of action to achieve your goals. This information is presented to you on your subsequent visit which we call the report of findings.

Dr Roger Asks some important questions of interest to Vancouver residents - Chiropractor Vancouver Dr Roger Asks...

How do you know when you're healthy?
Ask most Vancouver residents this simple question and you're likely to hear, "When you feel good" or "When you're at your proper weight for your height" or "When you have lots of energy and vitality." Great answers. But our chiropractic patients know that true health is when your body is working as it was designed. True health is how you function, not how you feel.
Do nerves actually get pinched?
Chiropractors recognize two types of nerve disorders involved in vertebral subluxation complex. The least common is a pinched nerve that diminishes nerve supply to an affected organ or tissue. More common is the irritated nerve (facilitative lesion) which overexcites nerve communications to an affected organ or tissue. Chiropractic care has been shown to help with both types.
